Cricket talent in abundance coming from the Family of @KZN10com Schools

There has been much said about the U19 Cricket World Cup, so nuff said from me.

Picked at random (the photos were close to hand) are just a handful of the talented @KZN10com cricketers of the last couple of years who you may well hear more of on- or off-shore in the months and years ahead.

Martin Ashworth feature photo: Former Hilton College run machine and partnership-breaking spinner Michael Sclanders is making his presence felt in New Zealand.

Multi-talented former Maritzburg College captain, top-order batsman, wicketkeeper, partnership-breaking spinner & SA Schools hockey player Andre Bradford is playing with marked success in England.

Outstanding former Hilton College wicketkeeper/batsman Gareth Schreuder is studying and playing in England.

Once again in-photo is Gareth Schreuder the stylish Hilton College first XI wicketkeeper/batsman of recent vintage.

Wesley Madhevere the celebrated St Charles College first XI all-rounder and captain of the record-breaking Team of 2019 has represented Zimbabwe with distinction and was joint Player of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in 2018. The future plans of this electrifying fielder are of interest to many.

It appears that last year’s Hilton College first XI captain, all-rounder and today’s birthday boy Michael Booth is locked on to his target of cracking open a pathway in the pro cricket circuit. As I understand it, Mikey will be in England this year.

Clifton College cricket legend Matt Montgomery is studying and playing cricket in England.

2019 Hilton College head boy and tireless opening bowler John Turner has got the skill, the hunger and the work ethic to make the grade. As I understand it, John is playing cricket in England this year.

Making the batsman play is a hallmark of all-rounder Brandon McMullen the swing and seam bowler. The Hilton College first XI captain of recent vintage is more than just catching the Scotland selectors’ eyes.

The talented 2019 Maritzburg College captain and wicketkeeper/batsman Jacques van der Walt is studying and playing cricket at University of the Free State this year.

Let’s hope 2018 SA Schools and early 2019 SA U19 pace blitz Lifa Ntanzi of Glenwood recovers properly from the injuries that rendered his matric 2019 cricket year so endlessly frustrating.
